Bonne Femme S Peppermint Twist
Here’s a Bonne Femme doe that hasn’t had a page on our website before. Robin calls Peppermint Twist her “Little Red Pink” because she looks so much like her granddam, Pink, except in red. Twist developed a precocious udder or mastitis as a dry yearling. We didn’t catch her in heat that fall and she did not conceive when we let the cleanup buck in to the does. Because of this, we didn’t feel like we could sell her (other than as a pet) and had intended to take her to the sales but hadn’t gotten it done. Perhaps because we didn’t really want to. One morning in fall of 2024, Twist was the last out of the barn, very unusual for her. On a hunch, Rhonda asked Mike to get Galaxy out but Galaxy was busy flirting at the fence with all the other does. Leo was happy to take a walk though. Five months later, Twist freshened with triplet bucks and a beautiful and productive udder.
